I haven’t had the opportunity to live in the fifties but I surely know that my grandparents had their youth in those days and had my baby mom and dad to be born. They were eyewitnesses of the Cold War, Korean War, Vietnam War and Algerian War…almoust the same as nowdays. History repeats just that time goes by and we get older.
I was fascinated by the elegance, purity and liberty of those years ( at least it seemed so ) and I did a research about things that were popular in thoses days: music, television, design and fashion.
Popular music had a jazz influence, like Frank Sinatra, Tony Benett, Johnnie Ray, Doris Day and so on.
Frank Sinatra – I love you baby
And there arrived in the middle of the 50’s rock-n-roll classics: Elvis Presley, Jackie Wilson, Johnny Cash
Elvis Presley – Jailhouse Rock
The 1950s are known as the Golden Age of Television by some people:
Television affects what we wear, the music we listen to, what we eat, and the news we receive.
We were marked by the talented:
Sophia Loren
Marilyn Monroe – Diamonds are a girls best friend ( Gentlemen prefer blondes,1953)
One of these names remained fashion icons, and nowdays there are humdreds, thousands new faces trying to copy them. The style, elegancy are just two of the main points:
And there are always the new tendencies but with the old fashion:
And if you have a such a beautiful girl beside you just need the perfect home 😉
